Train the Trainer

Here at JM Training Academy we offer many courses as Train the Trainer but what, exactly, does this mean and what are the benefits?

Are you a provision that needs more flexibility around how and when training is delivered or are you a self-employed trainer who wants to add a new course to your delivery portfolio?

Train the Trainer courses mean that we will come to your provision and train YOUR staff to be able to deliver the required subject (for example, Anti-Ligature Awareness and Protocol) to YOUR staff, when YOU need it.  Each member of staff who attends a Train the Trainer course will receive the following:

Lesson Plan

  • Scheme of works
  • Course plan
  • Training presentations
  • Trainer notes
  • Delegates workbooks (where applicable)
  • Delegate & trainer assessments (where applicable)
  • Blank Certificate of Completion template

All of the materials used in the Train the Trainer will be sent to the provision so that each member of staff trained has everything they need to deliver the course to your staff

The provision will receive:

01

. A 12-month license certificate to deliver the course as many times as you need to in the 12 month period (no restriction) . Certificate of completion for each of your staff members who attended

02

So what are the benefits of having some of your staff trained to deliver our courses? For members of staff who consistently perform at a good to excellent level and who are looking to increase their knowledge and skills, Train the Trainer courses are perfect for their CPD and career development. They will learn new skills and increase their knowledge within the workplace, which has a positive effect on overall performance.

03

From a provision point of view, having an in-house member of staff who can deliver bespoke training means that you can plan training more efficiently to meet the needs of your provision.  All of our Train the Trainer courses are structured in a module format, so that they can be delivered as a days’ training or individual workshops.  This reduces the cost of training for the 12-months the license is valid for and gives you the flexibility to new starters and existing staff alike when you need to.

04

It is worth noting that only the member of staff trained on the Train the Trainer course is able to deliver the course in-house and they will not be certified to train others in the provision to deliver the course. In addition, they are not certified to deliver the course externally should they leave. While the provision holds the License Centre, it is recommended that more than one member of staff is trained on the relevant Train the Trainer course so that should your trainer leave, you still have a member of staff within the provision that can continue to deliver the course.

Our most popular Train the Trainer courses are:

  • Anti-Ligature
  • Awareness & Protocol
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Suicide & Self Harm
  • Safer Handling of Medication Administration and Recording
  • BEACON therapeutic parenting (an alternative to PACE)
  • Safeguarding (up to DSL level)

Most of our courses can be delivered as Train the Trainer courses and we can make them bespoke to your organisation.
From a self-employed trainers’ perspective, you will be able to deliver the training to your private clients with your 12-month license centre certificate.  You will need to hold a PTTLS qualification to complete any Train the Trainer course.
